(A) Bench Press
While it may seem that the incline bench press occurs in the sagittal plane of motion, it actually takes place primarily in the transverse plane. The chest muscles are the major muscle group for this exercise and they help to move the upper arms in a semi-circular motion in the transverse anatomical plane. The triceps assist the chest muscles in the bench press and they act primarily in the sagittal plane of motion. However, the bench press is referred to primarily as an exercise for the chest, so the anatomical plane that takes priority here is the transverse plane.
The lat pulldown and the seated dumbbell shoulder press both occur in the frontal plane. The sit up occurs in the sagittal plane.
