Andreu Swasey out; Felder, Thomas, and Johnson in for Miami Strength & Conditioning
Miami, Fla. — Following the non-renewal of the University of Miami’s strength and conditioning coach Andreu Swasey, Georgia’s Gus Felder, John Thomas and Kelin Johnson are headed to Coral Gable to join Mark Richt’s new strength and conditioning staff. Sources say that Gus Felder is likely to lead Miami’s strength and conditioning program.
Felder, is an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the University of Georgia and played at Penn State. Felder previously ran strength and conditioning programs at Clark Atlanta and Cheyney. He has been at Georgia since 2014.
John Thomas has been Georgia’s associate strength and conditioning coach since 2012. He previously worked as strength and conditioning coordinator at Penn State for Joe Paterno. Kelin Johnson played for Richt at Georgia worked as a graduate assistant before joining the strength and conditioning staff.
