Syracuse, New York — Syracuse University head football coach Dino Babers will be bringing along his strength and conditioning staff from his time at Bowling Green State University. The outgoing football strength and conditioning coach, Will Hicks, will be remaining at Syracuse to head the school’s Olympic sports teams. Sean Edinger will be the new assistant athletic director for athletic performance at Syracuse.

Edinger worked under Babers at Bowling Green State for the past two years, as well as one year at Eastern Illinois. Hicks worked to prepare players for the hurry-up spread offence at Bowling Green. Edinger was also previously the head strength coach for Central Missouri (2010 – 2012) and Haskell Indian Nations University (2008 – 2009). Edinger was a graduate assistant at Missouri from 2006 – 2008 after earning his undergraduate degree at Kansas. Edinger is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and he also holds the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified credential from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. Interestingly, Edinger was also a member of the US National Karate Team for five years.
